This is segment #4 The injection line heaters came from Noel Young (“noelyoung” on eBay or noelyoung@hotmail.com ) He sells custom injection line heaters & also aux. fuel pumps to work in conjunction or even replace your injection pump/lift pump entirely when operating on alternative fuels. Rescued from a dark, cold corner of a tow yard… the old girl needed some love. She will serve as mobile power and back-up power for an old cattle ranch.

In this video, I thoroughly test a military surplus MEP004a 4 cylinder NA diesel generator. I put it through a series of load tests, including overload to about 150% of its rated capacity. I also run it single phase while powering my shop, and place some large starting surges on it. During those surges, I watch the waveform on an oscilloscope. I am checking for large spikes, fluctuations, or odd shapes which could indicate a damaged voltage regulator, loose contacts, or bad generator windings.

Previously used on a farm as mains back up, I bought this to power my welders and other workshop tools but it came to me with no tank, exhaust or sockets so has become something of a project in itself (I didn’t really need any more, I have plenty as it is!) For me mate Davy up in Scootland!
